I’m finally sharing some recent commissions! This beach house portrait was a gift from a daughter-in-law to her in-laws. At 5”x7”, this was a small painting packed with tiny detailing. I loved the challenge of trying to miniaturize as much as possible - so fun! She only had one reference photo and, as with each commission I approach, I like to work with the client to idealize their reference photo. This means readjusting the perspective, cropping to get the subject front and center, eliminating visual distractions, and accentuating the favorite bits. I hope everyone has been enjoying the holidays! Disconnecting from social media and reconnecting with family and nature was so good for the soul. That being said, I am ready to hit the ground running into this new year and decade! I’ve got lots of projects planned and new goals to work toward but, before I jump forward, I want to take a look back at this past year and thank you all so much. You have been incredible supporters of me and my art whether you purchased prints, commissioned a painting, spread the word, or sent private messages of support. I am truly grateful for it all. .

I’m sure you all can tell through my work that the environment and it’s well being is near and dear to my heart. My whole life I’ve been immersed in nature from living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains to learning everything I can about native endangered species here in Virginia. When I decided to create Tiny Pine Art, I knew that giving back to that which Inspires me the most was going to be an important piece of the puzzle. I decided that I would donate a percentage of my proceeds each year to the Nature Conservancy of Virginia so that I could hopefully make a positive impact, no matter how small, on the environment local to me. Because of your support this year, Tiny Pine Art was able to make a donation of $75.00. If you feel so compelled, they are matching all donations to the main organization until midnight tonight. Thank you again and I will see you in the new year!

One final walkthrough of the coloring book so these little critters can say a final “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year”! It’s feels impossible to pick a favorite illustration. Do you have a favorite one? These coloring books were so popular that I’m going to create a few different versions for next year. Do you have any animal requests?

Last craft show of the year is tomorrow!! It’s at Carver Recreation center in Charlottesville, VA from 10am to 5pm.
