These pieces were drawn as meditations on spring.
As the weather warmed and the bulbs and wildflowers bloomed, I would take my coffee and sketchbook outside and record their growth and special characteristics. Those sketches became the foundation for what these drawings would become. The lines and curves of the leaves reminded me of the art nouveau style, so that became an aesthetic that I leaned into and explored in these pieces. Delicate curves.. slightly whimsical.. my ode to the beauty of spring.
