Homegrown 2021
Drawn as meditations on spring. As the weather warmed and the bulbs bloomed, I took my coffee and sketchbook outside to record their growth and special characteristics. Those sketches became the foundation for what these drawings would become. The lines and curves of the leaves reminded me of the art nouveau style, so I leaned into that aesthetic. Delicate curves.. slightly whimsical.. my ode to the beauty of spring.
