Please join us for this special, 2-part botanical art workshop where you’ll learn to draw detailed and realistic graphite botanicals, just in time to celebrate the autumn season. These classes are designed for beginner and intermediate students alike and will help you develop confidence in your artistic abilities while creating your own botanical masterpieces.
You’ll learn my tried and true method for transforming gray, one-note pencil drawings into dramatic graphite masterpieces, full of character and depth. I’m excited to share my easy to follow, step-by-step process that I’ve developed over a lifetime of drawing so that you can walk away feeling empowered to draw flora and fauna that you discover and confident about what to do if you get stuck along the way. Feel free to take breaks and visit The Market at Grelen for snacks and drinks during the session (not included in the ticket price).

Session 1 - Drawing Basics
August 30th
In this first session, we will explore the basics of graphite drawing. You'll gain a better understanding of the various pencils, paper types, erasers, and drawing techniques. You’ll have the chance to put it all into practice with a class project.
Session 2 - Learning to Blend
September 6th
In this second session, you’ll get to explore a variety of additional tools and techniques that will give your drawings a beautifully blended look. This session builds upon the previous one and gives you additional skills that elevate your artwork to the next level. You’ll have the chance to put it all into practice with another class project.

Grab a friend and join us for this creative and fun afternoon out! By the end of this class, my goal for you is that drawing botanical subjects like these will feel demystified and be more approachable. I bet you’ll feel proud and surprised of what you can accomplish! Before or after the class you can have lunch in the Grelen cafe, shop in the boutique and/or hike the six miles of Grelen Trails.
